It all began with driftwood
"Skagerak Denmark is based on the love of wood, proud traditions of craftsmanship and respect for the sea and for the history of seafaring. The values and traditions absorbed from these sources have been crucial in all my family’s endeavours, even as far back as the 19th century, when my great-great grandfather, Søren Møllebygger, built the first sawmills for sawing and working up the flotsam and jetsam of the shipwrecks, all too frequent at that time, on Skagen Odde. These raw materials provided the basis for the joinery skills for which Skagen is widely known and which live on in Denmark’s carpentry traditions. Skagerak Denmark is the product of generations of our family’s passion for wood – and it all began with driftwood."
Ib Møller, founder of Skagerak Denmark
